DESCRIPTION:Calling all poets and nature lovers! Join us for a captivating free Haiku Writing Workshop for all-comers\, led by Lynn Davidson.\nYou can then enter your haiku poem in the Haiku Competition\, held  throughout the month of October as part of Pātaka Museum + Gallery’s 25th birthday celebration to encourage emerging and established writers to share their reflections and aspirations of Pataka. It is in the karesansui style\, which represents mountains and water through the use of rocks and gravel\, an authentic design created by gardeners from Nishio City\, Porirua’s Sister City in Japan. This is a unique chance to celebrate nature’s serenity through words and capture the essence of our cultural haven. No experience is required – just an open heart and a love for the art of expression. This is a drop-in event so no booking required. \n\nStay after the workshop for some birthday cake\, at 1pm\, courtesy of the Friends of Pātaka.\n\nThe Haiku workshop and competition are sponsored by Friends of Pātaka.\nNational Poetry Day
